Doris Elaine McBride

Doris McBride, 83, of Stockton, IA went to meet her maker on Tuesday, July 25, 2017. Services will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 12:00 pm in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Doris was born on March 21, 1934 to Henry and Nellie Schlimmer. She was part of the first graduating class of Bettendorf High School in 1952. Her hobbies included gardening, crafts, sewing, auctions and she was a lifelong bridge player. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality and made it her personal mission to make people smile. She loved spending time with her friends and family. While raising her family she was also a foster mother caring for dozens of children in need.

Survivors include her loving husband, James T.; children, Mike (Patty) Schellenberg, Pam (Cliff) Cole, Jo (Brad) Vander Tuig, Phil (Susie) Schellenberg, Jaynie (Chuck) Geiger, Janet (Gary) Wheeler and James R. (Tanya) McBride and three generations of grandchildren.

In additions to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Marv and husband of 58 years, Walt Schellenberg.
