Doris Ann Warren passed away on July 13, 2026. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026 at Runge Mortuary in Davenport, with internment to follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born and raised in Jacksonville, Illinois, Doris lived a life that took her across the USA and to other parts of the world. As a young woman she, her husband Vern, and their three kids piled into a 4-door sedan pulling a Bee-Line trailer and camped in states from Virginia and Florida to Colorado and Washington. Later in life, she enjoyed road trips to locations including Maine, the Gulf Coast, and the Grand Canyon. She jumped at opportunities for travel to Holland, and China when they came up.
Doris worked as a secretary and bookkeeper, including at Brown Dental Lab in Davenport, Iowa in the 1970s, and Chase Studios in Cedar Creek, Missouri, which she retired from in the early 2000s. After living in southwest Missouri for more than 30 years, she returned to the Quad Cities in 2010.
Well-known for her love of board and card games, she was a key figure in her building’s gaming groups. She enjoyed sharing her talent for sewing with others who needed a little help. And like the rest of her family, she never met an ice cream she didn’t like.
Friends and neighbors were welcome at Doris’s apartment for laughs, sage advice, and her listening ear. Her Christian faith played a pivotal role in her life, and she believed we can all receive God’s grace.
She is survived by her brother Robert (Bob) Pullam, son David Warren, son Larry Warren, and daughter Ann Warren. She also loved and enjoyed her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Inez C. Taylor (McDaniel) of Jacksonville in 2012, and her father, Leslie Wayne “Tony” Pullam of Quincy in 2002.
