Doris M. Weaver

A Celebration of her Life will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Davenport Lutheran Home or the Alzheimer’s Association (www.aiz.org). Doris was born in Centerville, IA on January 12, 1937, the daughter of Charles and Hester Kennis. Doris married Elvin Weaver on June 12, 1954 in Centerville, IA. She enjoyed RVing, camping, sewing, singing and dancing and mostly loved spending time with her family, especially her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Elvin, Bettendorf; daughter, Rita Cleveland, Bettendorf; sons, Ricky Weaver and Roger Weaver, both of Davenport; four grandchildren, Bryce Cleveland, Port Charlotte, FL, Nicole (Mario) Smith, Iowa City, Mindy (Jason) Richards, Davenport and Luke Weaver, Davenport; eight great grandchildren, Brandon, Gracie, Jordan, Tyler, Alishiana, Aliyah, Amariana and Anyah; two great great grandchildren, Jordyn and Joshua; two sisters, Mary Jane Douglas, Centerville and Judy (Jim) Beale, Bettendorf; and one brother, Joseph (Lois) Kennis, Baileyville, IL.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, John Kennis Miller and Fred Kennis and a sister, Leona Larsen. The family would like to express their appreciation to all of the staff at the Davenport Lutheran Home for their loving and compassionate care.
