Dorothy Viola Hillier

Dorothy V. Hillier, 90, of Davenport, Iowa passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Runge mortuary. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, American Macular Degeneration Foundation, or American Heart Association. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Dorothy was born on October 11, 1927 in Davenport, Iowa to Willard and Frieda (Erichsen) Hillier. She graduated from Davenport High School in 1945. She began her working career as a Stenographer at Ralston Purina Company. She also worked for Investors Diversified Services, Alcoa. She worked two years as an office manager for TV Guide. Dorothy became a contract administrator for the Bendix Litton Systems, retiring in 1991. Dorothy was past chairman of the American Business Women’s Association from 1979-1982. She was also a member of Women of the Moose, American Association of Retired Persons, Quad City Times Plus 60 Club and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing and traveling. Survivors include her nephew, Christian (Carla) Popp; niece, Jeanette (Danny) Santilli; great nieces: Nichole Clemons, Samantha Miller and Jennifer Lennon; nine great great nieces and three great great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Frieda Popp and Euguene Popp.
