

Dorothy J. Quinn, 91, of Davenport, a resident of Jersey Ridge Place, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, January 30, at the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport, with burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. The family will greet friends during visitation one hour prior to service time at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting www.rungemortuary.com. Dorothy was born on August 25, 1925, in Davenport, to Jacob and Jeanette (Funk) Ovens. She was united in marriage to Harry Quinn on October 2, 1970, in Davenport. He preceded her in death on March 1, 2009.
Although Dorothy worked in the home, she was a world traveler, and loved her day trips. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. In addition, she had a life-long interest in music and a talent for both the piano and organ. She even wrote and copyrighted her own music. She was a past member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Davenport. Those who were fortunate to know her, regarded her as a social butterfly, and admired both her creativity and dedication to her family.
Those left to honor Dorothy’s memory include her daughters, Connie (Robert) Bonne, Davenport, and Lorrie (Tim) Connelly, Minneapolis; son, Donald (Donna) Motz, Perry, IA; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two sisters, Milicent and Evelyn.
