Dorothy L. Raney

Dorothy L. Raney, 90, of Davenport, went home to the Lord on Friday, September 27, 2013. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Dorothy was born on March 4, 1923, to Roy and Dell Decker in Sigourney, Iowa. She was united in marriage to George Raney on November 23, 1940, in Davenport. During her working years, Dorothy was employed as a machine operator and line worker. She worked for Ever Tite and Brammer, making gun parts and ammunition boxes for the Rock Island Arsenal. She also worked for Sears Manufacturing, making tractor seats. Dorothy enjoyed fishing, camping, crafts and vacationing, as well as spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Wilma (Bela) Hummel; two granddaughters, Ida (Mark) Murray and Eva (Gary) Bussard; three great-granddaughters, Kristy (Rudy) Ramos, Lisa (Randy) Perkins and Julia Mills; eight great-great-grandchildren, Lavar, Gianna, Amber, Lily, Jordan, Olivia, Alisha, and Miguel; three nieces, Charlotte, Jane and Mary; one nephew, Leonard; and three sisters-in-law, Dory, Vita B, and Velma. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three sisters, Helen, Ellen, and Delores.
