Dorothy D. Reicks

Funeral services for Dorothy D. Reicks, 57, of Davenport will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012 at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary chapel in Davenport. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Reicks passed away following a lengthy illness on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family and friends. Dorothy Diane Woods was born in Davenport, IA on December 12, 1954, the daughter of William and LaVonne (Stockman) Woods. She worked for various Quad City home health care agencies as a certified nursing assistant. Her most important job however was being a mother and later a loving grandma. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She adored spending time with them every chance she got. Dorothy was strong in her faith and was often heard proclaiming, “Praise the Lord!” She was a member of Word of Faith Tabernacle. She is survived by her Children: Misty (Dan) Armstrong of Davenport, John (Amanda) Reicks, Jr. of Green Bay, WI; three Grandchildren: Brayden Armstrong, Carter Reicks, and Spencer Reicks; her Siblings: Kim Chappell of New Windsor, IL, Butch Woods of Davenport, Eddie Woods of Burlington, IA, Chris Woods of Moline, IL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Susan Samuels and Lisa Shreeves; and her very special maternal grandparents: Veron (Dorothy) Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
