Douglas was born June 2, 1993 in Davenport, the son of Craig and Teresa (Monk) Wiegel. He attended Pleasant Valley schools and graduated in 2011. Doug had attended Tennessee Tech University and Black Hawk college. He was employed by Hy-Vee.
Doug was a talented musician, playing multiple instruments and especially loved playing the blues. He enjoyed participating in many sports, as well as spending time on the river boating and fishing.
Douglas is survived by his parents Craig and Teresa of Bettendorf and his sister Angela (Michael) Stadnik and nephew Evan and niece Jenna of Waterford, NY. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Walter and Edythe Monk of Pipestone, MN. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Brittany Swearengen and her daughter, Carmen, of Bettendorf, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
