

Duane H. Fletcher, 77, of Davenport, passed away at home on Monday, September 22, 2014 in Davenport. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 12:00 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 pm at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Duane was born October 3, 1936 in Davenport; the son of Eldon Eugene and Helen Margaret (Wooder) Fletcher. He served in the US Army. He was united in marriage to Mary C. Barnet on October 10, 1959 in Eldridge, IA. He started hauling canned milk in the late 1954 until 1965 when he then drove a semi for Wonder Bread Bakery for 36 years. He retired from the Teamsters Local Union 371. He along with his wife also operated Fletcher Sewer Service for thirty years.
He was an avid fisherman and euchre player. He enjoyed his coffee club at the Hy Vee on East Kimberly Road and going to CASI. Duane loved spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren; the love of his life, Mary and his dog, Fritz. He enjoyed collecting eagles. He especially loved spending time with his family during the holidays.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Mary; children: Leo (Wendy) Fletcher, LeClaire, Carol (Brien) Roberts, Moline, IL, Stacy Fletcher (Jeff Early), Davenport; grandchildren: Nicholas and Victoria Fletcher, Stephanie Roberts and Steven and Anna Fletcher; great grandchildren, Rayna; David and Maddison; sister, Judith (Mark) Flaherty and brothers, James and David Fletcher and Jim Kling.
His parents, son, Gary Duane Fletcher and a grandson, Robert Thomas Fletcher preceded him in death.
