Edgar Paul Wells

Visitation will be Friday, September 20, 2024 from 11 am until 12 pm at the Runge Mortuary. Services will follow at noon. His final resting place will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may go to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

Edgar was born in Davenport on June 6, 1937. He was the son of Delbert P. and Stella L. (Edgar) Wells. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He married Barbara J. Smith on March 7, 1958 in Davenport and built their home to raise their family.

He worked as a construction manager for US West Telephone Company, retiring in 1998. After retirement he went to work for Burke Cleaners. He enjoyed boating, golfing, fishing, and volunteering for the Bix for over 20 years. His pride and joy were his grandsons and enjoyed spending time with them. In earlier years, Edgar was an active member of Westside Assembly of God Church in Davenport.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Barbara, Davenport; daughter, Carrie (Anthony) Kupris, Eldridge, son, Christopher, Davenport; grandsons: Nicholas and Tyler Wells and Evan Stork (Kaytlin Branham); great grandchildren, RoseLynn and Harrison sister, Doris L. Miller, East Moline, IL and nephew, Tracy Ackerman.

Preceding him in death are his parents, daughters, Laura and Leora Wells in infancy, and nephew, Todd Ackerman.
