Edith L. Harrison-Parris

Edith L. Harrison-Parris, 81, of Davenport passed away at her home on Saturday, August 9, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to New Life Baptist Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Edith was born October 14, 1932 in Ava, Missouri, a daughter of Levy and Gladys (Hill) Brake. In 1956 she married Roscoe C. Harrison. He preceded her in death in 1981. She later married John D. Parris in 1989. He preceded her in death in 1998.

Edith was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church and was active in its “Hearts for Hands” group. She enjoyed her exercise class at CASI.

Survivors include her children: Michael (Ellen) Harrison, Kristy (Rob) Kleinsmith, Karen (Chris) Anderson and Kimberly Lafrenz; grandchildren: Ashley, Zachery, Erika, Katelyn, Nathan, Joshua, Justin, Jared, and Carter; seven great grandchildren; a sister Norma Cassady and a special friend Karen Nelson.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Harrison, her parents, four sisters and two brothers.
