

Edith Mae Mohr, 75, loving wife and devoted mother, died Wednesday, November 2, 201 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Memorial services will be Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 11:30 am at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:30 am until the service at the mortuary. Edith was born January 10, 1936, one of twelve children born to Laird and Bonnie (Morgan) Simpson. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Mohr on June 19, 1971 in Davenport. She retired from the print shop at the Rock Island Arsenal and had also worked as a copy editor at the QC Times. She loved her family, angels, Hawkeye sports and watching birds at her feeders. Edith was fiercely independent and a welcoming hostess. She was competitive at euchre and scrabble and was a spirited political debater.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband and heroic care giver, Lloyd, Davenport, daughter, Melinda (Bill) Coleman, Mahtomedi, MN; grandson, John; six brothers and one sister. Her parents, son Nathan and four siblings preceded her in death.
Edith’s family would like to thank her doctors and caregivers for all the care and support shown to Edith and her family during her illness.
