
Edmund Thomas Biggs, 78, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at The Ivy of Davenport. Per his request, cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held when COVID restrictions are lifted. His final resting place will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army. Edmund was born December 15, 1941 in Davenport to Donald T. and Betty Jane (Scheib) Biggs. He served in the US Air Force during Vietnam. He married Sue Ellen Light on August 7, 1965 in Davenport; she preceded him in death in July 1994.
Together with his father, he owned and operated Biggs Automotive for 45 years and then went to work as an electrician for Burroughs Corporation and John Deere for many years prior to retiring. His memberships included Our Lady of Victory Church in Davenport, US Auto Club, Independent Garage Owners, V.F.W., D.A.V., AARP and the Scott County Skeet Club. He also loved racing midget cars and belonged to numerous hot rod clubs. Edmund was a lifetime member of the NRA.
Those left to honor his memory include his son, Bradley, Marquette Heights, IL, grandchildren: Andreas Mendoza, Davenport and Madison Cremeans and Caiden T. Biggs, both of Marquette Heights, IL
In addition to his wife, Edmund was preceded in death by his parents.
