Jane was born on December 20, 1938, in Coatesville, MO, to Carl and Luella (Followill) Gordy. She married Sam Wilson in 1957 and preceded her in death in 1967. A devoted and loving mother, Jane stayed at home and cared for her family, giving her days to the steady faithful work of nurturing those she loved. Later in life, she held several different jobs, finally retiring from K&K Hardware in 1997.
Jane was a charter member of LeClaire Baptist Church, LeClaire, IA where she served with quiet dedication-lifting her voice in the choir and sharing her care through teaching Sunday school. She found joy in simple pleasures and shared moments including playing cards, bingo, sewing with the skill of an accomplished seamstress, and cooking for others. Her cinnamon rolls were a cherished specialty, often made for friends and family, offered as a warm expression of her generosity and attention to those around her. Among her favorite memories was a cooking day with her daughters and grandchildren, she passed along her cinnamon roll-making secrets an enduring gift of time, tradition, and love. Even in her final days, her first concern remained the well-being of her family. Jane will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jane is survived by two sons, Greg Wilson of Bettendorf and Steve Wilson of Davenport; two daughters, Teresa-Wilson Decker (Roger Reynolds) of East Moline, IL., and Nancy Wilson of Allen, TX; stepson, Dave (Karen) Evans; multiple grand, great, and great great grandchildren; two nieces, Cathy Sams and Rhonda Halili; and many extended family members.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands; and a daughter Beckey Henry.
