

Edna Lillian Schmidt, 96, of Davenport, passed away Monday, January 21, 2013 at Trinity Bettendorf. Celebration of Life services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 26, 2013 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Friday, January 25, 2013 at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mark Evangelical Church. Online condolences may be shared at www.rungemortuary.com.
Mrs. Schmidt was born September 19, 1916 near Stockton, Iowa, to Henry and Ella (Langfeldt) Eickhoff. She married Louis Schmidt on June 5, 1937 at St. Mark Evangelical Church in Davenport, Iowa. They farmed near Dixon and Donahue, Iowa. Louis died August 5, 1962.
Edna attended Scott County Schools. She was employed at W.T. Grant and then at Petersen Harned Von Maur for 25 years. She had been an Avon Representative since 1963. She was a member of St. Mark, the Moose Lodge, Plus 60 and the Avon Collectors Club. She enjoyed her family, traveling, playing cards and meeting with her retirees groups for lunch.
Survivors include three grandsons, Jeffrey Schmidt, Gregory Schmidt , Glenn (Melody) Schmidt and great grandchildren, Maile, Cody and Tyler all of Davenport.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Gerald Schmidt, on October 17, 1980; her parents; a sister, Norma Thumann and her husband, Henry, of Davenport; a brother, Elmer Eickhoff and his wife, Mildred, of Wilton, IA and a sister, Dorothy Ahrens and her husband, Hubert, of Durant, IA.
