Eduardo Balli, 74, of Bettendorf, IA, passed away on August 6, 2025, at his home. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will be on the same day from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be made to Edwards Congregational United Church of Christ.
Ed was born on June 8, 1951, in Donna, TX, to parents Gilberto and Guadalupe (Lugo) Balli. Growing up in a large family, he stepped in to support and care for his siblings, helping to make sure they had what they needed. He went on to work at Alcoa as a machinist for 39 years, before retiring in 2016.
On July 12, 1980, he married the love of his life, Alice (Kasper) Balli, at Edwards Congregational United Church of Christ. Their 35 years together were spent making a loving family and home. She passed on August 26, 2015.
In his free time, Ed could be found fishing, camping, and tending to his vegetable garden. But he found the most joy in spending time with his family. Every year, they all made sure to go to the Iowa State Fair together. Trips and events like that meant a lot to him and his family.
Ed is survived by his children, Natalie Balli, Jessica Balli, and Travis (Kelsey) Balli; his grandchild, Adrianna Balli; his siblings, Mary Schulte, Sylvia (Robert) Silva, Eloy Balli, Gilbert Balli, and Annette Moreno; his mother-in-law, Ardis Kasper, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded by his wife, Alice Balli; his parents, Gilberto and Guadalupe Balli; his sister and brother-in-law, Liz and Danny Nicholson; his nephew, Michael Sandoval; his father-in-law, John Kasper; and his best friend, Mike Luse.
