Edward L Schneider, 89, of Davenport, IA died Thursday June 21, 2012 at Hospice of Burlington, IA.Born December 22, 1922 in Iowa City, IA; he was the son of James and Jennett Schneider. On April 29, 1944 he married Martha Jane Kern in Ft Campbell, KY, prior to them leaving for Europe to serve in the army during WWII. She died in 2002.Mr Schneider retired after a 30 year career as an Iowa Rural Mail Carrier.Survivors include 2 daughters Jane Buster of San Antonio and Linda Ahrold of Burlington, and one son Edward Schneider Jr of Moline; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.A private family service will be held at a later date.
