Eileen H. Lawrence

Eileen Lawrence, 90, of Eldridge passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be at 10:30 am on Friday, March 31, 2017 at St. Ann’s Church, Long Grove, IA. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Eileen was born January 19, 1927 in LA Porte City, IA the daughter of George and Elizabeth (McGovern) Moran. She was united in marriage to John F. Lawrence on December 27, 1947 at Assumption Church in Cresco, IA. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2000.

Eileen was an excellent cook and her family loved her Sunday dinners, especially Grandma’s gravy. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed sewing beautiful dresses for her granddaughters. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and together they took many cruises to interesting parts of the world.

Those left to honor her memory include her son, John (Pam), Bettendorf; granddaughters: Sara Lawrence, Davenport, Rachel (Kyle) Loussaert, Eldridge, Kristin (Jared) Stecker, Bettendorf; great grandchildren: Lily, Mya and Owen and sister, Lois Barnes, TX.

In addition to her parents and husband Eileen was preceded in death by three sisters.
