Elaine J. Gates

A private family memorial service for Elaine J. Gates, 73, of Davenport will be held at a later date. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Mrs. Gates passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Genesis Medical Center – West Campus, Davenport. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service assisted the family with arrangements. Elaine June Prost was born on June 16, 1940 in Keweenaw Bay, MI, the daughter of Theodore and Eva (Malaska) Prost. In 1966, she married Bud Jaeger. She later married Bernie Gates in 2000. Elaine worked at Brammer Manufacturing for 20 years. Prior to her retirement, she worked in housekeeping at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus. Elaine was a member of Adventure Christian Community Church. She is survived by her Husband: Bernie Gates of Davenport; a Daughter: Paula Jaeger of Davenport; 8 Step-children: Lynn (Jeff) Lamson of Baraga, MI, Rita (Robert) Tomkins of Silvis, IL, Patti (Rich) Sheppard of Silvis, IL, James (Wendy) Jaeger of Dubuque, IA, Richard Jaeger of Morrison, IL, Marty (Debbie) Randolph of Ottumwa, IA, Tony (Kim) Gates of Eldridge, IA, Jeffery (Lorraina) Gates of Omaha, NE; two Sisters: Vivian Barberi of Republic, MI, Judy Thompson of Green Bay, WI; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Amy Gates Duyvejonck.
