I enjoyed seeing Grandpa Elden on his visits to San Antonio. He and Grandma Shirley would help Melanie & I with our field days when they were here - fun times. I know he will be missed terribly. My condolences to the Brooks family.

I remember taking care of Elden and Shirley a time when they were both hospitalized. Shirley told me the story of how they met and I was so moved by how much love was between them. Elden visited Shirley all day long and would go back to his room to sleep at night but, always kissed her goodnight and told her he loved her before leaving. They both had such beautiful souls and were very nice. I always told them I wanted a love just like theirs. I just wanted to share how they touched my life and I barely knew them as I'm sure they did to many. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

No matter how much we try to accept that death is just part of the cycle of life, it is always hard to lose the ones we love. Sandy, I am so sorry for your loss.

Melanie, Amy, Charlie, Ashley, and all the girls…I know how much you loved your grandpa and how much he loved each of you…hold on tight to the happy memories. Your Uncle Warren and I hold you all in our hearts at your time of sadness and always.

Sandy and family, we are so sorry to learn of the passing of your Dad. He and your Mom were such good and special friends to our family and wonderful "grandparents" to our grandchildren. May your Dad rest in a well-deserved peace. What a reunion they must all be having!
