Elizabeth "Liz" A. Beard

Funeral services for Elizabeth A. Beard, 78, of Davenport, IA will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2010 in the Adler Center Auditorium located in the Genesis Heart Institute at Genesis Medical Center - East Campus, Davenport. Interment will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary in Davenport. Mrs. Beard died on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Genesis Medical Center East Campus in Davenport.Elizabeth Ann Charvat was born in Davenport on January 31, 1932, the daughter of Herman and Clara (Priebe) Charvat. She was a graduate of Davenport High School with the class of 1950. On April 15, 1951, she married Dale A. Beard in Davenport. Mrs. Beard was a housewife, homemaker, and most of all Mom. She has volunteered since 1963 as a "Pink Lady" at the former St. Luke's Hospital in Davenport, and continued to volunteer at Genesis Medical Center East Campus accumulating over 75,000 hours. She was a member of PEO Chapter GW and enjoyed gardening and yard work.She is survived by her Husband: Dale, of Davenport; a Son: Jeff (Stephanie) Beard of Davenport; a Sister: Penny (Charles) Butz of Edison, NJ; and two Granddaughters: Emily and Jennifer.She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Hermie.Memorials may be directed to the Genesis Hospital Women's Auxiliary - "Pink Ladies".
