Ella Frahm, 100, of Davenport, Iowa, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on May 23, 2024 at Good Samaritan Society in Davenport, Iowa. While her physical life on earth has ended, her eternal journey in the presence of her Lord has just begun. Services in celebration of her life will be held on June 22, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Weerts Funeral Home, 3625 Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. Family will greet friends from 12:00 pm until the time of service. Interment will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport. Ella was born, along with her identical twin sister Elva, July 23, 1923, in Lamar, Missouri, to Ben & Glessa (Forgey) Cowan. She married Verle Taylor of Albert Lea, Minnesota in 1941, with whom she had three daughters. She later married Paul Frahm on June 2, 1967, in Davenport, Iowa; he preceded her in death on Feb 12, 2011.
Ella was a long-time and faithful member of First Christian Church, Davenport, where she played in the bell choir, was a member of women’s circles, and served in a variety of other capacities. She had a gift and flair for hospitality and enjoyed entertaining others. She always loved a good party!! Her strong faith in Christ carried her through the many ups and downs of life, giving her a positive attitude along with a sweet and pleasant spirit, even as her physical health declined. Throughout her life, caring for family and friends, music, cats, china painting, and genealogy were consistent priorities and favorite pastimes.
Ella is survived by two daughters: Patricia (Lou) Felix of Payson, Arizona and Scotty (Gary) Spohr of Fishers, Indiana; four stepchildren: David Frahm of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Kathy Frahm of Bettendorf, Iowa; Steven (Audrey) Frahm of Plantation, Florida; and Tim Frahm (Becky Adams) of Davenport, Iowa. She was grandmother to nine grandchildren: Christian (Britt) Felix, Erica Spohr, Andrew (Kelly) Spohr, Jessica (Todd) Nipp, Ben (Nicole) Frahm, Walker (Jennifer) Frahm, Courtney (Christopher) Badger, Belle Frahm, and Cassandra Wylie; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, parents Ben and Glessa Cowan, twin sister Elva Carroll, brothers: Curt Cowan, Clare Cowan and Herbert Cowan, daughter Julie McEwan, son-in-law Tim McEwan, daughter-in-law Anne Frahm, and great-granddaughter Lavinia “Lovey” Frahm.
