

Funeral services for Ellis “Cliff” C. Milne, 79, of Davenport, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary chapel, Davenport. The family will greet friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the mortuary. Interment will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the American Legion-Post #26. Mr. Milne passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus, Davenport.Ellis Clifford Milne was born on December 23, 1932 in Baudette, MN, the son of James and Olive (Burnell) Milne. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Milne attended the University of Minnesota, Duluth where he pursued a degree in engineering. He ultimately graduated from Blackhawk College in Moline. On February 16, 1957, he married Margaret R. Johnson in Duluth, MN. In 1968 they moved to Davenport, where Mr. Milne worked in the engineering department at J.I. Case.Mr. Milne was an active member of the Grandview Baptist Church in Davenport and a member of the Davenport American Legion Post #26. He actively volunteered for several organizations, including: Vander Veer Conservatory, Festival of Trees, the Boy’s Club, and in the café at Ridgecrest Village. His other interests included fishing and most especially spending time with his family. He is survived by his Wife: Margaret Milne of Davenport; two Daughters: Karen (Kevin) Gerboth of Davenport, and Sarah (Jeff) Seeber of Peosta, IA; four Sons: Loren (Crystal) Milne of Davenport, Craig Milne of West Springfield, MA, David (Diane) Milne of Blue Grass, IA, and Brian (Sharon) Milne of Davenport; three Brothers; four Sisters; eleven Grandchildren and three Great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents.Memorials may be directed to Grandview Baptist Church or to the Vander Veer Conservatory.
