

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the mortuary. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family.
Elmer was born March 5, 1932 in Davenport, to Earl J. and Anna E. Simons. He made his home with his life’s companion of 20 years, Janice Lewis. She preceded him in death in October 1997.
Elmer was an avid gambler, drinker, lady’s man and bulk bargain shopper. He frequented his local bars visiting with his friends. He retired from Litton Precisions in 1993 after 41 years. He was a member of the Tipton VFW Honor Guard. He also enjoyed camping at Hidden Rivers Campground, Tipton since 1960.
Elmer is survived by his children, Anna ( Rodney“Hot Rod”) Winters, Anthony Yoke, Cindy (Shawn) Schillig, Jerry (Jennifer) Lewis, and Dawn Holman, all of the Quad City Area; grandchildren, Heather, Renae, Jacki, Annissa, Colin, Nicholas, Austin, Tony, Isabelle, Sarah, Samuel, Summer, Hannah, Haley, Toby, Cosmo, Jahshadow, Jesse, and Anna; and great grandchildren, Aiden, Kyla, Tristan, Ayla, Abbie, Nickolia, Darius, Javon, Gabbie, Lucas, Alexia, “Best Bud” Charlie, and long time nemisis and barking fool, Bruno.
He was preceded in death by his parents, life’s companion Janice, and several siblings.
