Eloise was born on November 30, 1928, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Elmer and Janet (Adey) Henninger. She was married to Jack Lange on May 2, 1946, until his passing in 1972. She later married Vernon Houseal on March 14, 1975.
Eloise worked as a switchboard operator until starting her family with Jack. She later worked for Davenport Bank & Trust and the DOT. She enjoyed her participation and friends at Christ Church Davenport, playing bridge, making and selling jewelry with Vern at art fairs, hosting family for the holidays and pizza birthday celebrations, and most of all any chance to spend time with her family.
Living independently until one week before her death, Eloise was an inspiration to others, she never complained and always had a smile on her face. People who met her would comment that she was “so cute”. She truly was humble, gracious, kind, loving, and a faithful child of God.
Those left to honor her memory include children, Janet Lange, Bettendorf, Karen (Doug) Berneking, Bettendorf, Timothy (Kathy) Houseal, Hattiesburg, MS, Thomas (Lucy) Houseal, Vicksburg, MS, Nanette (Leland) Martin, Orion, IL, Jennifer Dryoel, Milan, IL, and Gwen (Rich) Aleksiejczyk, Davenport; 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
