

Elvin E Hallmann 89 of Davenport died Saturday July 28, 2012 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Davenport. Funeral Services will be held at the Runge Mortuary 10 am Tuesday July 31, 2012. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 pm until 7 pm Monday July 30, 2012 at the funeral home. He was born September 15, 1922 in Pleasant Valley, Ia, son of Louis and Amanda (Lueders) Hallmann. He served in the army during WWII, where he received Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal, and Army of Occupation Medal Japan. Elvin was united in marriage to Ella Ruge May 3, 1944 in Davenport. She preceded him in death in 2008. He was employed with the Davenport Community School District for 37 years in the Maintence Department retiring in 1985. He was a member of Donahue American Legion, and a 60 year member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Davenport. He was avid sportsman, hunter, and fisherman. He got great joy out of being with his family and grandkids.
Those left to honor his memory are his Daughter Shirley( Richard) Glover , Davenport; son Louis J Hallmann and friend Judy, Davenport. Three Grandsons David Glover, Allen (Sara) Glover, and James Hallmann. Ten great grandchildren, and one sister Erma (Tom) McMahon, Davenport.
