Eric J. Montag

Eric J. Montag, 37, of Davenport passed away Friday, April 22, 2011 unexpectedly at his home. Cremation will be done with a memorial service to be held 2:30PM Friday, April 29, 2011 at the Runge Mortuary Chapel. There will be a time to greet the family one hour prior to the service. Eric was born September 2, 1973 in Blue island, IL to Lawrence & Diana (Aubuschon) Montag. He was a graduate of Davenport Central High School and had earned his associates degree from The Rock Bible College in Gainesville, GA. Eric’s calling was evangelizing and sharing the “Word” through outreach missions.

Eric had worked at several warehouses in Davenport, Iowa, Florida, & Georgia, including the Wrigley Gum Factory in Georgia. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and both playing and coaching softball.

Survivors include his son Joseph Montag, Virginia; Mother Diana (Kirk) Otterman, Alto, GA; Father Larry (Ann Marie) Montag, Mulberry, Fl; Brother Christopher Montag, Davenport, IA; Sisters Sarah (Reid) Miller, Peoria Heights, IL and Sarah Montag Dubuque, IA; Grandparents Fred & Maxine Aubuschon Fairview Heights, IL, and Barbara Montag,Monticello, IA; nieces & nephews.

Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents Evelyn Montag Vondran & Joseph A. Montag.
