Eric “Bones” E. Stock, 79, of Davenport, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday March 1, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday March 5, 2022 at Grace Evangelical Free Church located at 5520 Eastern Ave. The family would like you to join them for a “Bones” style luncheon following the funeral service. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take place at Davenport Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be left to Grace Evangelical Free Church. Bones was born on September 4, 1942 in Wilton, IA to Harold and Helen (McFarland) Stock. He proudly served in the US Army Reserves from 1962 to 1968. Bones was united in marriage to Nancy Jorgensen on June 20, 1964 in Davenport.
Bones started his work life as a Dairy Farmer on his family farm. He took a position at Tri City Heat Treat, moving on to Mueller Lumber, and then Town and Country Lumber. He owned and operated Eric “Bones” Stock Construction, retiring in 2011.
Bones’ love for Christ came later in life when he gave his heart to The Lord. Bones was a member of Grace Evangelical Free Church. He was an Eagle Scout Leader, an avid hunter, golfer, and enjoyed many motorcycle rides. His best day was spent meeting and talking to people. He had a generous heart and could be relied on to help anyone in need. His family and friends were the most important to Eric, he will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his loving wife Nancy of 57 years; children Marcia (David) Cassino of North Pole, AK, Beth (Jerry) Riordan, Chad Stock; grandchildren Lisa, Christine, Erica, Alexandria, Breana, Gabrielle, John, Josey; nine great grandchildren and one sister, Ruth Ingalls.
