Esther Lorene Dollins

Davenport, IA Funeral services for Esther Lorene Dollins, 93, of Davenport, will be 10:00 am on Wednesday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will greet friends on Wednesday from 9:00 am to service time at the Mortuary. Cunnick - Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.Esther passed away on January 8, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.Esther Lorene Dollins was born on July 19, 1923 in Rome, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Stella (Hill) Messer. After attending Fairfield High School, she married Vernie W. Dollins on July 1, 1940. He preceded her in death on September 1, 1998. Esther was a loving mother and grandmother and devoted wife of 58 years to Vernie. Esther loved her family and all of her many friends. She enjoyed living in Spring Village where she was a resident for 17 years. She was an active member of the Grandview Baptist church for many years. Survivors include her children, Ronald (Kyle) Dollins of Bettendorf, James (Audrey) Dollins of Davenport, Colleen (Mervyn) Thede of Southport, N.C., 11 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Richard Dollins and eight brothers and sisters.Remembrances and condolences may be made to the family at www.cunnick-collins.com.
