Ethel W. (Patsch) Cozad

Ethel W. (Patsch) Cozad, 101 of Davenport, IA passed away after a long fulfilled life on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Silver Crest, Davenport, IA.

Funeral services will be at 12:00pm Friday, July 12, 2019 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Genesis Hospice. Online tributes and condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

Ethel was born May 23, 1918 in Davenport, IA to Walter and Ethel K. (Bankson) Patsch. She was united in marriage to James W. Cozad, Sr. they later divorced.

She loved baking, bird watching and gardening in her flowerbeds. Ethel was a very avid Chicago Cubs fan. In her younger years she was very athletic, playing tennis in Davenport City Tournaments.

Those left cherishing her memory include her daughter, Ann (Stan) Simpson, Davenport, IA; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Cozad, Colona, IL (of the late Jim Cozad, Jr.); grandchildren: Jim III (Melissa) Cozad, Layton, UT, Melissa (Joe) Martinez, Montgomery, IL, Scott (Katie) Simpson, Jacksonville, AR and Jeff Simpson, Davenport, IA; great grandchildren: Lindsey Cozad, Nathan Martinez and Benjamin Martinez.

In addition to her parents Ethel was preceded in death by her son, Jim Cozad, Jr.

RIP,' Little Ethel'. Your dad and mine shared the name Walter Patsch. I believe your dad was my dad's uncle, a brother to his father Henry. I remember our visits over to the brick home just off Brady Street, and to this day I look down that street to see it as I drive up Brady. Judy Patsch, Rock Island
