Davenport, IA Funeral services for Eugene LeRoy May, 88, of Davenport, will be 1:00 pm on Wednesday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Family will greet friends on Wednesday from 11:00 am to service time at the Mortuary. Cunnick - Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.Eugene passed away on September 9, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Care Center, Davenport.Eugene LeRoy May was born on June 30, 1928 in Conway, MO, the son of James and Georgia (McCay) May. He married Lois McCarty on September 6, 1952 in Davenport. Eugene worked at United Parcel Service as a Dispatch Supervisor for 14 years. He retired in 1991. Eugene was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Davenport. He was a member of the St. Louis Cardinals fan club. He also loved country and blue grass music, gardening, and yard work. He was very proud of his collection of crosses. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who enjoyed his family and church family. Survivors include his wife, Lois of Davenport, daughters; Jonee Lynn (Robert) May-Wolfbrandt of Davenport, Linda Sue May-Lawrence of Davenport, grandchildren; Erin (Josh) McChesney, Venessa (Scott) Swope, Holly (Carl) Rauch, great-grandchildren; Nathaniel Mosier, Quinn McChesney, Noah Mosier, Ezekiel Mendoza, Alexis Mosier, Izabelle McChesney, Madeline Ray, Gabriel Rauch, Kennedy Swope, sisters; Pauline Koontz of KS, Gladys Roberts of Midland, TX, Ruth Shuskey of Troy, MO, sister-in-law; Dotty May, and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; George May, John May and sisters; Mary Jewel and Susan Smith.Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church.Remembrances and condolences may be made to the family at www.cunnick-collins.com.
