Evelyn was born February 14, 1923 in Roosevelt, OK the daughter of Samuel and Annie (Chouce) Murphey. She was united in marriage to Fred Lewis. In her younger years she worked at a crossing guard. She enjoyed feeding her family from her large garden. She loved canning her yield and raising animals. She was a hard worker with an extra big heart.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Leon Gilbraith, Donald (Joan) Gilbraith and Carol Cox; and brother, Cecil Murphey.
Evelyn was preded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; brothers: Raymond, Chuck and Melvin; sisters, Wanda and Rosie.
