Graveside services for Evelyn R. Marxen, 90, of Davenport, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery mausoleum chapel. Family will greet friends on Thursday from 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary in Davenport. Mrs. Marxen died on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at Genesis Medical Center - West Campus in Davenport, IA.Evelyn Rose Knutsen was born in Davenport on March 5, 1920, the daughter of William and Anna (Wulf) Knutsen. She worked as a waitress for the former Old Boston Cafe and The Steakhouse Restaurant. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.She is survived by two Sons: Eugene Marxen and Larry Marxen, both of Davenport; two Daughters: Lavonne (Rich) Edge and Linda Grubbs, both of Davenport; two Sisters: Velma (Roland) Oetzman of Donahue, IA, Alma Mae Peters of FL; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded by a Daughter and Son-in-Law: JoAnn (Harvey) Block; four Sisters: Irene, Florence, Esther, and Ruby; and four Brothers: Harold, Herbert, Leonard, and William.Memorials may be directed to the family.
