

Funeral services for Firn May Hubble, 95; formerly long time resident of Bettendorf, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at The Runge Mortuary and Crematory, 838 E. Kimberly Rd. in Davenport. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the mortuary. Mrs. Hubble was called to heaven on Friday, October 20, 2017. Firn May Troutman was born in Seminole County, Okla. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association. On May 10, 1922, the daughter of Fred and Myrtle Belle (Mahan) Troutman and grew up in Oklahoma and Texas. She married Leon E. Hubble of Wayne County, Illinois on April 8, 1945, in Craig, Colorado and they moved to Clay City, Illinois soon after. Leon Hubble died on April 11, 2006 just 3 days after the family celebrated Firn and Leon's 61st wedding anniversary. They lived in Clay City and Olney (area), Illinois before moving to Bettendorf, Iowa in 1959. Firn worked for Bettendorf High School, Parker Department Store and later the Rock Island Arsenal where she retired in 1985 after 18 years of service. Firn has enjoyed her retirement! She loved to garden and spend time with grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her many friends; as well as travel to visit family in Southern Illinois, Texas and Oklahoma. Firn was a member of Harmony Hills Church in Bettendorf; later attending Hope Baptist Church in Bettendorf until her health prevented her from attending. Firn loved the Lord! Firn enjoyed monthly luncheons with her retired Rock Island Arsenal friends and attended monthly potlucks as a spouse of a Davenport Alcoa Retiree. Survivors include her two daughters, Sharon (Mrs. Steven) Neal of Cedar Hill, Texas and Barbara (Mrs. James) Cato of Milan, Illinois; one sister, Juanita (Mrs. Marvin) Brown of Drumright, Oklahoma and one sister in law, Leila (Mrs. Robert) Runyon of Noble, Illinois and many nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren include Tracie Cato of Bettendorf, Ia. and Michael (Kathleen) Cato of Davenport, Ia. Her great-grandchildren are Stephanie Cramm, Ellen and Sam Border, Brianna, Nicholas, Alysa and Devon Cato. GOD IS SO GOOD!
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Nannie Troutman, a brother Paul; three sisters, Ruth O'Donnelly, Joyce Goldstein and Wanda Ehemann.
