

Frank A. Coller, 76, of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away Friday, April 7, 2023 at the Clarissa C Cook Hospice House. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 11am at the Rock Island National Cemetery; those wishing to attend are asked to be at Weerts Funeral Home at 10:30am to go in procession to the cemetery. Family and friends are invited to the Mississippi River Distilling Celebration Center in LeClaire, IA immediately following the graveside services to participate in a Celebration of Life luncheon. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Frank’s name may be made to the Clarissa C Cook Hospice House or to a charity of your choice.
Frank was born on November 9,1946 to Joe and Bonnie Coller in LaPorte City, Iowa. Following high school, Frank joined the United States Air Force. He was united in marriage to Jeanine on July 28,1972. Upon returning to the United States, Frank worked as an Industrial Electrician until his retirement in 2009.
Frank loved flying. He was a pilot and flight instructor in Davenport. Frank held an Extra Class License for HAM Radio with the call sign K0UPH. He loved technology and riding motorcycles. Frank and Jeanine often took cross-country trips on their motorcycle. He loved to play chess and spend time with family and friends. Frank had a quest for knowledge and was always learning something new.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Jeanine; daughter Rachel (Jeff) McClain; son Mike Grinstead; grandchildren Nick DeStefano, Megan Grinstead, Michelle Grinstead, Jeffrey McClain, and Emma McClain; great-grandson Declan McClain; brother Jim (Sharon) Coller; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Joan Morris, and niece Melissa Withers.
