Frankie Doyle Cole, 71, of Davenport, passed away March 15, 2014 at St. Mary's following a short battle with lung cancer. Frank was born in Missouri on July 28, 1943, the son of Frank Cole and Anna (Travis) Cole, both deceased. Frank spend much of his life 'working' as a nurse at various facilities, including the Good Samaritan, What one would consider work, Frank would feel it as a mission. Frank felt truly blessed to be able to assist patients with their health needs because he felt that nursing and helping people were his true callings. His sense of humor, and love for people brightened the lives of his patients, friends and family. His generosity and tender nature was conveyed by the manner in which he administered the health needs of the patients he cared for. This attitude was witnessed by others in Frank's personal life as well. Frank was one of those "rare" people who would "give" everything to help anyone, whether it was clothes, money, a place to stay, a smile or simply a kind word. Frank was always there to help someone in need. Frank was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Doren, Daryle, Laverne and Norma. Frank is survived by his son, Frankie Doyle Cole Jr; sister-in-law, Norma Cole and niece, Tammy Cole and many dear friends from his favorite place to socialize, Central Discussion.
