Fred T. Wiese

Fred T. Wiese, 87, of Dixon, IA passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Genesis Medical Center (East Campus). Visitation will be from 3-7 P.M. Sunday, November 8 at The Runge Mortuary. Funeral services will be Monday, November 9 at10 A.M. in The Runge Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Dixon Memorial Park or to Dixon Fire Dept. Online tributes may be made at www.therungemortuary.com.Fred was born, January 12, 1922 in rural Scott County to Herbert and Marie (Tetzner) Wiese. He was united in marriage to Mildred Esbaum on January 12, 1944 in Davenport. She preceded him in death in 1977.He farmed his entire life and served as a former director of the First Trust and Savings Bank of Wheatland and was a member of the Deer Valley Collectors. He enjoyed the Breakfast Club at Fred’s table at Gramma’s Kitchen. A very private man, he will be missed by many.Those left to honor Fred’s memory include four daughters and sons-in-law Janet (Larry) Schlapkohl of Durant, Marilyn ( Keith)Steward of Dixon, Marcia (LeRoy) Amundson of Imperial Beach, CA, and Lois (Bruce) Keppy of Eldridge; eight grandchildren Troy and fiancé (Jennifer) Schlapkohl, Tim Schlapkohl, Brian Steward, Kurt (Ann) Steward, Jill (Jim) Thielges, Todd Amundson, and Greg and Steve Keppy; six step great grandchildren and one great grandson on the way; two sisters Jeraldine Danielsen of Davenport and Rose Marie Spies of Stockton.In addition to his loving wife, Mildred, he was preceded in death by a son James, his parents and a brother Lorane.
