

Gail M. Greenwood, 86, of Davenport passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Friday, February 11, 2011 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 4-7PM Thursday, February 10 at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Scott County Humane Society. Gail was born April 23, 1924 in Mystic, Iowa the son of John and Opal (Elwood). He was united in marriage to Betty Francis on December 25, 1942 in Unionville, MO. She preceded him in death March 17, 2004.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Gail retired from Strieter Motors as a top technician in 1992 after 42 years there.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge #626. He was the best vegetable gardener – tomatoes were his favorite. He enjoyed playing guitar and cheering for the Chicago Bears and Cubs along with spending time with his special cat and companion, Pesky.
Those left to honor his memory include his loving children, Gayla (Richard) Johnson, Bellevue, NE, Skip (Patty) Greenwood, Davenport, Debbie (Frank) Lovejoy, Davenport, Dawn (Ron) Mohr, Davenport, John (Lisa) Greenwood, Oakley, CA, Ron (Kelly) Greenwood, Davenport, and Kris Markin, Davenport; sisters, Imegene Deppe, and Geraldine Nichols;18 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Earl; sister, Margie; and son, Michael.
