Gary Lee Whitcomb

Blue Grass, IA Visitation for Gary L. Whitcomb, 65, of Blue Grass, will be Friday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. There will be no services. Inurnment will be at a later date at South Walker Cemetery, Weaver, Iowa. Cremation rites have been accorded as was his request. Cunnick - Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.Gary passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2009 in McAllen, Texas.Gary Lee Whitcomb was born on September 28, 1944 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Floyd and Helen (Harris) Whitcomb. He worked as a carpenter for Bruce Jansen Construction, who was also his best friends for many years. For the last four years he was employed at the Lemon Tree Camp Ground in Mission Tx, as a work camper.Survivors include his sons; David (Angela) Whitcomb of Davenport, Daniel Whitcomb of Eldridge, Gary Whitcomb Jr. of Park View, six grandchildren, his long time companion, Judy Harding of Bettendorf, sisters; Jane (Don) Ray of Eldridge, Frieda (Mark) Fuller of Muscatine, IA, brothers; Bob Whitcomb of Ohio, Bill (Donna) Whitcomb of Port Byron,IL, Roger (Vickie) Whitcomb of Letts, Iowa, John Whitcomb of Fruitland, IA and Gene (Terri) Ulrich of Ohio.He was preceded in death by his parents.Memorials may be made to the family.
