Gene Lawrence Farnsworth

Gene Lawrence Farnsworth, 79, of Davenport passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the family. Gene was born on April 28, 1936 in Ramona, Kansas the son of Lawrence and Eva (Albright) Farnsworth. He was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Eklund on May 12, 1983 in Davenport. She passed away on September 15, 2014.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956. Gene worked for many years with the Runge Mortuary and Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was a huge collector of coats, shoes, watches and knives. He also enjoyed taking long rides.

Those honoring his life include his children: Janie Harroun, Gene L. Farnsworth Jr., Douglas Farnsworth; step children: Lynne Trevisan and Jeff Blind; siblings: Donna Farnsworth, LeRoy Farnsworth, Darrell Farnsworth, Linda Harvey and Sandra Kane; grandchildren: Nicholas, Dustin, Erich, Cody, Brittney and Kindra; great-granddaughter Casandra.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters and one brother.
