George was born February 24, 1930 in Rock Island, IL, the son of George and Anna (Dittrich) Bendt Sr. He married Ann Carver on August 12, 1954 in Rock Island, IL. He worked as an Inspector for ALCOA for forty years. He enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Chicago White Sox and spending time with his beloved family.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Ann; sons: Keith (Stacey) Bendt, Antioch, TN; Terry Bendt, Davenport; Mike (Sarah) Bennett, Davenport; granddaughter, Kimberley (Chris) Adams, Montgomery, Alabama; great grandson, Whesley Adams; brothers, James (Lynn) Bendt, Blue Grass, IA; William (Rhonda) Bendt, Florida; sister, Joan (George Jr. )Hart, Davenport and numerous nieces and nephews.
