So sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. He and Jim shared many memories of their years at Heinz, in the 60's, this summer at the mall in Davenport.What a great guy! So full of fun and stories. Some of you may not know that he was instrumental in my mother, Nadine, and Lester Rockafellow,our stepdad, meeting each other,marrying for 22 happy years-a true match "made in heaven" Ever grateful for that, Jerry. We will miss you-love you forever. Our sympathies to the family.

Gerald was such a delight. Two years ago I was working as a counter manager for Clinique in North Park Mall. I met Gerald from his many walks he would take through the mall. At the time I was pregnant with my daughter and I remember he would always treat me to mints (with Hawkeye wrappers) or Chiclets gum. He would make a point to stop at my counter and talk to about his love for his family and how a child is such a blessing. After leaving Clinique I would run into him in the food court from time to time, always cheery and always with a great story! I am very sorry for your loss, he had an amazing soul. He left a very good impression on me. I can only imagine what a delight he was outside that mall. I know his kindness will remain imprinted in my thoughts. 

He was a true guardian angel.

We were so very sorry to read the online obituary for Jerry today.  He will surely be missed by family and friends.

He was always a lot of fun when we had Little League get-togethers or played cards all those years ago.

What we especially remember was his devotion to his parents.  That said a lot about his character.

We regret we will not be at the services for Jerry, as we are in OH visiting 2 of our sons who live out here, but you will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I knew Jerry as a mall walker. I looked forward to my seasonal job each year to see how my "old guys" were doing. I didn't go back to work there this year and had just heard about his troubles. Jerry and I shared our love for the Hawkeyes. I loved to wear my newest attire in to start conversation. He was my daughters biggest advocate for petitioning a call phone in the 5th grade. She's now in 9th and finally has one. His jokes were never appropriate and sometimes I had to dismiss him from the conversation :)

I'll never forget my old guy Jerry for many reasons. May he rest in peace. 

He was a great guy and a positive influence on me. I will always smile when I think of him.

Dear Mary Ann and Family:   Please accept my sincere sympathy for the loss of your husband Jerry.   We have known each other for a long time but have not had the opportunity to always get together.   I know what you are going through right now and it will be a rough and tough Holiday season.   Please call me if you want to.  I do not think I will be at the service on Friday but know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  Take good care of yourself and I will try and get in touch with you in December.
