

With heartfelt sorrow and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Gerry I. Isaacson, who departed peacefully on June 2, 2026, at the age of 80 in Moline, IL, surrounded by her loved ones.
Gerry was born on August 10, 1945, in Salinas, CA. She met and married her one true love, Mahlon Isaacson, on October 30, 1964, and together they had two beautiful daughters. Though she faced the heartbreaking loss of her husband at an early age, she dedicated her life to creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and compassion while lovingly raising her children. Gerry was a devoted wife and mother, cherished sister, and loving grandmother and great-grandmother whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She also served as a switchboard operator at UnityPoint Trinity Hospital for over 20 years, exemplifying her dedication and service to her career and her community.
The heart of Gerry’s world was her family as she devoted herself to nurturing and supporting them all by; offering wisdom, encouragement, and unconditional love throughout their lives. As a sister, she shared a special bond with her siblings, creating treasured memories that spanned decades. She delighted in every moment spent with her family, celebrating their milestones and filling their lives with love and guidance.
Gerry was known for her generous spirit, gentle nature, ability to make everyone feel welcome, and willingness to engage in new experiences. Whether sharing a family meal, offering a listening ear, lending a helping hand or getting involved in spontaneous adventures, she brought comfort and joy to all around her. Her legacy lives on through the values she instilled—kindness, faith, perseverance, and love.
She is survived by her children, Nola (Bruce) Gastineau and Tracy Holdampf; her siblings, Tom (Billie) Lavrar, Rick Lavrar, and Sister-in-Law Emma Fox; her grandchildren, Tara (Steve) Mumma, Shawn (Jenny) Holland, Jacob (Susan) Holland, Lauren, Dalton, and Morgan Gastineau; her great-grandchildren, Kainin and Gabriel Mumma, and Grace Holland; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, Mahlon Isaacson; her parents, John and Lorraine Lavrar; her Sister-In-Law Louise Lavrar; and nephews Mahlon Sibert and Randy Lavrar.
A celebration of Gerry’s life will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Runge Funeral Home, followed by a short service at the Rock Island National Cemetery located on Rock Island Arsenal.
Family and friends are invited to gather to honor her memory and the remarkable life she lived.
Though she will be deeply missed, her love will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew her. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide her family for generations to come.
