Obituary of Gertrude A. "Trudy" Dells
Gertrude A. “Trudy” Dells, 84, of Davenport, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, July 23, 2022 in Warner Robins, GA. Visitation will be 10am to 12pm on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory, Davenport, IA. Her funeral service will be held at 12:00pm Tuesday, August 2, 2022 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Graveside service to follow at Davenport Memorial Park. Trudy was born on July 22, 1938 in Pulaski, VA to the late Lawrence and Margaret (King) Murphy. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport. Trudy had worked in home care and then at McDonalds for 26 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family and so many special friends. She loved going out to the casino with friends to listen to the bands and spending a little time at the slot machines. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Thomas M. Murphy and wife Anita, Deborah A. Hoke and husband Greg, Robert C. Bond and wife Darlene, sister Karen Zemerick and husband Ken, brother in-law Walter “Linky” Merson and wife Carroll, and sister in-law Mildred Hershey and Georgeanne Mowry. Preceded in death by husband, Clarence Dells, sister Peggy Sies and husband Ed, Patsy Bean, Jackie Werner and husband John, and sister in-law Gladys Herring. She so loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren nieces, nephews, in-laws and so many close friends considered family. May she rest in peace.
