Grace H. Howell

Funeral services for Grace H. Howell, 95, of Bettendorf, will be 11:00 am on Saturday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 10:00 am to service time on Saturday at the Mortuary.Grace passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus, Davenport.Cunnick-Collins Mortuary assisting family with arrangements.Grace Helen Foster was born on May 17, 1917 in Bettendorf, the daughter of Henry and Jane (Downs) Foster. She married Elvin Leon Howell on January 19, 1940 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport. After 56 years of marriage, Elvin preceded her in death in January of 1997. She graduated from Davenport High School in 1935.Survivors include her daughter, Joan (Thomas) Lahl of Blue Grass, son, Wayne (Helen) Howell of Bettendorf, grandchildren, Mark, Steven, Sarah, Charlie, great-grandchildren, Zachary, Noel and Anna, sister, Dorothy Mortinson formerly of Bettendorf. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elvin, sisters, Amy Phillips, Violet Evers, Elsie Schroeder, Mabel Anderson and brothers, William Foster, Lester Foster and Harry Foster.Memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society.Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.Cunnick-Collins.com.
