

Graveside services for Harold A. Jones, 81, of Davenport will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2014 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. The family will greet friends from 11:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary. Mr. Jones passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Iowa City, IA.Harold Anthony Jones was born on April 20, 1932 in Davenport, IA, the son of Harold and Leova (Huston) Jones. Harold attended St. Paul the Apostle grade school and St. Ambrose Academy. In 1952 he enlisted in the United States Army attaining the rank of Corporal, After completing his military obligations he went on to finish his college education graduating from St. Ambrose College in Davenport. In 1955, he married Jeanele Isenberger in Davenport. Together they had five daughters. Harold was employed for 35 years in traffic and transportation management, retiring from Gordon's Transport in 1986. He was a member of the Quad City Traffic/Transportation Association, and a past member of the Moose, Elks, and Knights of Columbus. Mr. Jones is survived by his five Daughters: Linda (Ron) Springmeier of Lake In The Hills, IL, Carol (Ed) Morrissey of LeClaire, IA, Nancy (Bob) Kuta of Davenport, IA, Sandy (Greg) McKinney of Donahue, IA, and Susan Elias of Blue Grass, IA; a Brother: James Jones of Springfield, Ohio; 14 Grandchildren: Stefanie (Nick) Swanson, Jennifer (John Aguayo) Springmeier, Sarah (Matt Toepfer) Springmeier, Mike (Jessica) Morrissey, Erin (Seth) Mahler, Joe (Alyssa Dresen) Morrissey, Katie Morrissey, Jimmy Morrissey, Allison (Matt) Kuta-Bergthold, Adam Kuta, Matt McKinney, Bret McKinney, Zach Elias, Tommy Elias; and 10 Great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Jones; and a special friend, Mary Caulfield. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the faculty and staff at the VA Medical Center and Genesis Medical Center - West Campus, Oncology Unit, for their care and compassion during Harold's illness.
