Harriet B. Britton, 101, of Davenport passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Davenport Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery. She was born October 21, 1912 in Dixon, Iowa, a daughter of Simon and Mamie (Arnold) Snyder. On July 16, 1934 she married William E. Britton in Dixon, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Mrs. Britton was employed by Children and Family Services until her retirement in 1982. She enjoyed her daily crossword puzzle and spending time with her family.
Survivors include daughters Peggy (Dale) Wiese and Joyce Corken; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; fifteen great-great grandchildren; a great-great-great grandchild expected in 2015 and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
