Harry W. Quick, Jr., 89, of Davenport passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012 in Davenport. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, May 23, 2012 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Tuesday at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities. Online condolences may be made at www.rungemortuary.com He was born June 5, 1922 in Rockingham, Iowa, a son of Harry W. (Sr.) and Hazel Vale (Mitchell) Quick. During World War II, he served in the US Marine Corps in the Pacific. On February 3, 1949 he married Genevieve Dorothy Schebler in Davenport. She precveded him in death on March 11, 1990.Mr. Quick was employed by Caterpillar for over thirty years, retiring in 1981. Following that, he worked part-time for Enterprise Leasing.Survivors include: daughters Janis (Don) Willmann of St. Peters, MO, Claire (Tim) Johansen of Bettendorf; grandchildren Courtney (Eric) Baker of Chattanooga, TN and Alex (“A.J.”) Johansen of Bettendorf, great granddaughter Eloise Baker; and a sister Geraldine Eichelberger of Letts, IA.In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Quick.
