Helen was born September 18, 1932, in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Keith and Fayreh Dearinger. She married Lyle Gwin in December, 1950, they raised their family together until Lyle’s death in October, 1974.
Helen spent much of her life working for Sprague (Schlumberger) Meter, where she met and married Guy LeBeau, November 20, 1976. They moved to Owenton, Kentucky with the company and spent 30 years living there, befriending many, and loved by all.
In her spare time, when she wasn’t playing a good game of solitaire, freecell or doing a puzzle, she loved spending time and talking with her friends (and family) - of which she had many - friends in Owenton, Red Hat Society friends, friends at Thomas Place, and friends at St James Lutheran Church, Bettendorf, where she was a member.
As for family, Helen is survived by her children, Chriss and Julie Gwin of Davenport, IA, Mark and Lora Gwin of Bettendorf, IA, Scott Gwin of Davenport, IA, Ragene Gwin of Lasalle, IL, Curtis Caldwell of Owenton, KY, and Jeff and Carl Caldwell of Walhalla, SC. 11 grandchildren - Keri (Nick), Mike (Ashley), Marie, Mat, Mara (Ken), Travis, Megan, David (Emily), Katie (Mike), Cody, Kayla (Craig). 16 great-grandchildren - Allie (Carlos), Nate, Maiya, Ellie, Christopher, Brayden, Todd, Josh, Alex, Elizabeth, Wolfgang, Dunhum, Rylan, Weston, Bentley, and Kane. As well as her sister, Kate Mackey, of Davenport, IA, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lyle and Guy, her son, Dennis,and granddaughter, Brooklyn.
Helen’s granddaughter, Rev. Mara Ahles-Iverson will be presiding at the funeral. Runge Funeral home is helping with the arrangements. A visitation will take place at Runge from 5-7pm on Friday, September 16. Her funeral will be at St. James Lutheran on Saturday, September 17 at 10am, with burial at a later date, family and friends attending are invited to wear her favorite color, purple.
