Private graveside services for Helen J. Powers, 84, of Davenport will be held at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Davenport.Helen passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.Cunnick-Collins Mortuary assisting family with arrangements.Helen Joyce Gassmann was born on December 17, 1928 in Davenport, the daughter of Otto and Clara (Vogel) Gassmann. Helen worked for many years in home health care as a private duty nurse. She raised 5 children and later in life lived in Spring Village where she enjoyed playing cards and bingo.Survivors include her daughters Kathy (Buddy) Carpenter of Washington, Diane (John) Mahar of Colorado, Jayne Lycan of Colorado, sons; James Powers of Florida, John Powers of Colorado, and 5 grandchildren. She is much loved and will be dearly missed.She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Eleanor Eagen and Jeanne Sanchez.
